Return & Refund Policy

StudyCloud sells digital services and digital content. This policy explains when a refund is available, when it is not, and how to request one.

Last updated: 4 August 2026

1. Scope

This policy applies to all purchases made on studycloud.io, including subscription plans, Scale storage plans billed monthly or annually, paid downloads, and paid course access. Because StudyCloud delivers digital services and digital content only, there is no physical return: a "return" means revoking access and issuing a refund where eligible.

2. Subscriptions

2.1 Cooling-off period

New paid subscriptions may be cancelled with a full refund within 14 days of the first charge, provided platform usage during that period remains within a reasonable trial level — specifically, no more than 10% of the plan's monthly storage and bandwidth quota and no more than 50 AI processing jobs (transcription, translation, or dubbing). Beyond those thresholds the service is considered materially consumed.

2.2 Renewals

Renewal charges are non-refundable once the new billing period has started. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; cancellation prevents the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period already paid for. Unused days in a cancelled period are not refunded.

2.3 Annual plans

Annual plans are refundable in full within 14 days of purchase under the conditions in section 2.1. After that, annual plans may be cancelled for future renewals but are not refunded pro rata, except where required by law.

2.4 Upgrades and downgrades

Upgrades take effect immediately and are charged on a prorated basis. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal; the difference is not refunded. If a downgrade puts you over your new storage quota, you must reduce usage before the change applies.

3. Digital Content Purchases

Paid downloads and paid course access are delivered instantly. By completing a purchase you expressly request immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose any statutory right of withdrawal once download or streaming has begun, to the extent permitted by law.

Refunds for content purchases are granted where:

  • The file or course was never delivered or the download link never became usable;
  • The delivered file is corrupt, incomplete, or materially different from its description, and cannot be repaired or replaced;
  • You were charged more than once for the same purchase;
  • The charge is confirmed to be fraudulent or unauthorized.

4. What Is Not Refundable

  • Content that has been substantially downloaded, streamed, or consumed;
  • Change of mind after the cooling-off period, or failure to use a purchased plan;
  • Dissatisfaction with the editorial quality, teaching style, or opinions expressed in third-party course content;
  • Imperfections in AI-generated transcripts, translated captions, or dubbed audio, which are provided on a best-effort basis;
  • Bandwidth, storage, or AI processing already consumed;
  • Accounts suspended or terminated for breach of our Terms & Conditions, including copyright infringement or abuse;
  • Downtime caused by third-party providers, force majeure, or your own network or device.

5. Service Failure Credits

If a verified platform outage prevents you from accessing your files for more than 24 consecutive hours in a billing period, you may request a service credit proportional to the affected days. Credits are applied to your next invoice and are our standard remedy for availability issues.

6. How to Request a Refund

Email contact@studycloud.io with:

  • The email address on your StudyCloud account;
  • The invoice number or transaction date and amount;
  • The plan or item concerned;
  • A short description of the reason for the request and any relevant screenshots.

You can also open a ticket from your dashboard support page, or call +1 914 800 7964.

7. Processing Time and Method

We acknowledge refund requests within 2 business days and decide within 10 business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Your bank or card issuer typically posts the amount within 5–10 business days. Where a refund to the original method is impossible, we may issue a wallet credit of equal value with your agreement. Refunds of a purchase also revoke the associated access or licence.

8. Chargebacks

Please contact us before opening a chargeback — most issues are resolved faster directly. Accounts subject to an unresolved chargeback may be suspended until the dispute is settled. Fraudulent chargebacks may result in permanent termination.

9. Seller Payouts

If a buyer is refunded for content you sold on StudyCloud, the corresponding amount is reversed from your wallet balance. Where the balance is insufficient, the shortfall is offset against future earnings.

10. Statutory Rights

This policy does not limit any non-waivable consumer rights available to you under the law of your country of residence. Where local law grants a stronger remedy, that law prevails.
